Project Manager: UEFA EURO 2028 – Host City Project Lead

Salary: c£65,000 – £80,000

Term: The role is expected to support Cardiff Council with the preparation & delivery of UEFA EURO 2028, as well as post-event completion requirements, and subject to extension.

Cardiff is preparing to welcome one of the world’s biggest sporting events as UEFA EURO 2028 kicks off in the city. In addition to hosting the opening match, Cardiff will stage a further five fixtures, welcoming hundreds of thousands of fans and showcasing the city to a global audience of millions.

To meet its Host City Agreement commitments, Cardiff Council is building a dedicated team to deliver this world‑class event. We are seeking an exceptional Host City Project Lead to oversee the strategic planning and operational delivery of UEFA EURO 2028, and co-ordinate the host-city activity throughout the event. The post will also be responsible for leading the Host City project team.

UEFA EURO 2028 represents a once‑in‑a‑generation opportunity for Cardiff and Wales. This role offers the chance to play a leading part in delivering a major international sporting event in a city with a proud reputation for hosting global competitions.

EURO 28 – Project Lead JD PS 2026

You will have a proven track record of leading major sporting events and managing complex programmes involving multidisciplinary teams, significant budgets and multiple stakeholders. Competitive rates will be offered, with terms to be discussed depending on experience.

Project Coordinator: UEFA Euro 2028

Salary: c£28,000 – £32,000

Cardiff is proud to host the opening match and five further fixtures of UEFA EURO 2028, welcoming hundreds of thousands of fans and showcasing the very best of our capital city to a global audience. To help deliver an event of this scale, Cardiff Council is seeking a Project Coordinator to provide high‑quality administrative, organisational and secretariat support to the Project Lead and wider delivery team.

This role plays a key part in ensuring the smooth running of day‑to‑day project activity, supporting communication across workstreams, coordinating documentation and meetings, and helping maintain effective governance and project controls.
